Something small and smooth

Most surfers vibe off big swell and thumping barrels. I get it but I don't go looking for it.

What gets me excited is small, clean and well formed waves that peel along as though they had been programmed by some perfect machine.

Saturday was a good day.

Just for fun...

Walking with Pete from Peter Harget on Vimeo.

The end is near

From early 2009, the property standing at 45 Frederick Street, Merewether NSW has been home to the dixonbeachcottage crew. The lineup went through many changes over those 5 years but the vibe within the walls always remained chilled and positive.

Now the construction signs are up. Fishy and Swanny have moved on and the beach cottage stands vacant on the corner awaiting demolition.

All that will be left will be the boards, stories, memories and photographs of what was a great time all our lives.

I guess it's just another reminder everything ends sooner or later.

Last day of holidays...

The waves (though small) have been really inviting over the past few days. Tomorrow will be the last chance to steal and early session before going back to work on tuesday and I'm using this for some extra motivation!

A quiet week away...

Managed to get a few nice snaps over the last week while enjoying a restful holiday with Hannah. If only I had the camera at Crescent last week when it was peeling :(

Critical Cresent Weekend

Managed to jag another clean session at Scotts and Cresent last weekend. Things got a bit sketchy on the log as the swell built but I managed to sneak a few in before I dragged the simmons out of the wagon.

2012 has been an extremely busy time and unfortunately I have neglected the old blog. Here's a few shots taken recently in the beautiful autumn conditions we have been experiencing here in Newcastle...
