In Bloom!

With the summer season well under way we are beginning to see the beach cottage garden come to life.  The tommy tomatoes are starting to fruit, the chilli's are putting on some colour and all our hard work at the beginning of spring is starting to pay off. After my negative gripe about the state of the surf yesterday I felt it important to recognise some more positive aspects of summer!

Tis not the season...

It's been a miserable blown-out start to 2011 at the beach cottage. I'm beginning to wonder if I can still surf! While TBird and the gang toured around the south coast and Fishy snorkled his way around Lord Howe I sat in dreary old Newcastle weathering day after day of North East slop, and I'm still waiting for something good to happen!

I love summer but as a surfer it can be heartbreaking. Especially when you have a board you've only just got the feel for and you can't ride it because the surf is crap. Bring on Autum and those beautiful offshore winds!

The next few weeks I guess I'll just do what I have been doing and assume a comfortable position on the front verhanda and wait for the season to change...

Road Trippin...

I started off the year with a week-long road trip down the NSW south coast with some good mates. Epic waves and many tins were had by all. I am looking forward to a much, much longer trip in the near future...Tas, Ew, Danny boy, Benny, Sammy and T-bird... loving life
